Prithwish Biswas

Prithwish Biswas is a 5th year Chemical Engineering PhD candidate working with Dr. Michael R. Zachariah's group at University of California, Riverside. He has been working on the synthesis and investigation of the energy release mechanisms of metal, chemical hydride and ionic liquid based composite materials for energy storage and conversion. His work has particular implications in the design of alternative energy sources for rocket and jet propulsion systems demanding high energy release rates. Till now he has already published 5 research articles as the primary author and co-authored 14 research articles with his collaborators in highly reputed journals of his field. During his PhD he has received the competitive UCR Dissertation Year Fellowship Award. He is an active member of APS, AICHE and is a reviewer of Journal of Aerosol Science. He is interested in continuing to perform fundamental research and pursue a career in academia.
