Rachel Getman is a Professor and the Bernice L. Claugus Endowed Chair of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The Ohio State University. Prior to joining OSU, she was faculty at Clemson University, where she was the first woman to be tenured and promoted to full professor in her department. Dr. Getman’s research involves molecular simulations of phenomena at fluid/solid interfaces. Dr. Getman holds a CAREER award from the NSF, a Board of Trustees Award for Excellence from Clemson University, and a Professor of Affordable Learning Award from the South Carolina Affordable Learning Group. She serves as the Vice Chair of both Programming and DEI for the Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Division of AIChE. Dr. Getman earned her BS from Michigan Technological University and her PhD with Bill Schneider at the University of Notre Dame. She also did a postdoc with Randy Snurr at Northwestern University before starting her independent career.
