Ravi M. Shanker

Ravi Shanker is Senior Research Fellow in Pharmaceutical Sciences with over 23 years at Pfizer Worldwide R&D in Groton CT. He has developed several successful oral and parenteral drug delivery technologies. Platform drug delivery technologies such as spray dried solid dispersions have been widely used to advance numerous, structurally diverse new chemical entities with intractable physicochemical properties. He has enabled advancing these technologies from bench top to commercialization. Many of these technologies have been adopted by the pharmaceutical industry at large. He has published numerous papers and has numerous issued patents in the field of drug delivery. He has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences and is a member of Editorial Board of Journal of Pharmaceutical Science. Ravi’s current responsibilities include leading a Biopharmaceutics Group at Pfizer. Ravi received Bachelors in Pharmacy from India; Masters and PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Kansas.
