Robert Armstrong

Rob graduated in 2009 from the University of Bath with a BSc in Chemistry. The following year he completed an MSc (with distinction) at the University of York in Green Chemistry and Sustainable Industrial Technology (Dissertation title ''Greener Suzuki cross coupling reactions for application in liquid crystal synthesis''). He followed this with a PhD at Cardiff University under the supervision of Prof. Graham Hutchings (Thesis title ''Partial Oxidative Upgrading of Ethane with Fe- and Cu- ZSM-5 catalysts''). Since early 2014 he has been a PDRA in the Cardiff Catalysis Institute, researching the catalytic valorisation of biomass feedstocks and selective alkane oxidation.
