Safiyyah Wahid

Safiyyah Wahid holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Degree in Process Engineering from the University of Trinidad & Tobago and a Bachelors (B.Sc.) Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of the West Indies. After a successful career in industry as an Operations Supervisor, Ms. Wahid joined academia in 2013 and currently holds the position of Discipline Leader of the Certificate in Process Operations programme in the Process Engineering department at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. She currently lectures in the areas of Mass Transfer, Industrial Processes and Process Safety courses. Ms. Wahid's research is in the area of sustainable water treatment technologies and waste minimization. Ms. Wahid also holds two prestigious teaching awards - The City & Guilds Gold Medal of Excellence for the Oil and Gas Sector (2015) and UTT's inaugural Excellence in Teaching Award (EiTA) in 2021 (Winner for Process Engineering department).
