Sherif Khalifa

Sherif is a PhD candidate in the department of chemical and biological engineering at Drexel University under supervision of Professor Jason Baxter. In his thesis work, Sherif evaluates the life cycle environmental and human health impacts associated with deploying renewable energy system technologies, particularly incumbent and emerging solar photovoltaic systems. In collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, he also builds modelling tools to quantify life cycle material waste streams, resource efficiency and material availability for solar PV systems that may help in transitioning into a circular economy. He is the recipient of Drexel Chemical and Biological Engineering Outstanding Research Mentor Award and the Joseph & Shirley Carleone Endowed fellowship.
