Simon D. Fraser

Dr. Simon Fraser studied mechanical engineering and engineering economics at Graz University of Technology. He received an MSc in mechanical engineering in 2002, a PhD in chemical engineering in 2004. He also received secondary degrees in engineering economics (BSc) and in business administration and economics (BSc). Worked as researcher and project manager at the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Fuel Cell Systems with a focus on modelling & simulation as well as on process and equipment optimization (2002-2007). Joined the team around Prof. Khinast before the formation of the Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering (RCPE) in April 2008. Involved in the formation of the RCPE in July 2008 as project coordinator. Area manager for process engineering (2008-2010) and, since 2011, deputy director of RCPE. Main interests: pharmaceutical process development and optimization with a focus on continuous and integrated manufacturing approaches.
