Sterling Schmutz

Sterling earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Rice University. He began his career at the Baytown ExxonMobil Refinery in the Instrumentation group, and later in the Mechanical Engineering group for fixed equipment. He then began working for Compressor Controls Corporation, first as an Applications Engineer, then as a Sales Engineer, responsible for the Gulf Coast Region, and Latin & South America. He has led Applications pursuits including site surveys and recommendations in Refining, Offshore, Petrochemical, Ammonia, and Utilities. After three years in the Sales Engineering organization, he became the number one Sales Engineer for two consecutive years. He now works for Energy Control Technologies, and is responsible for Sales, site surveys, and Applications for North and South America, and the Middle East. Sterling is an Eagle Scout, and an active Assistant Scoutmaster in his son’s Troop in Spring.
