John Wasson is the founder and President of Wasson-ECE Instrumentation. Beginning with the industry’s first gas autosampler in 1984 and continuing today with the industry’s first process gas chromatograph delivering lab-quality chromatography, John has been a force for innovation in the field of gas chromatography. Graduate work in analytical chemistry, and early career training at Carle Instruments and Hach, gave John a strong foundation in GC fundamentals. Designing, building and applicating more than 5,000 customized GCs, deployed in 45 countries around the globe, has given John a depth of expertise unparalleled in the hydrocarbon processing and specialty chemical industries. Consequently, John is widely recognized as an expert in GC and brought in to help with the most challenging applications. John built Wasson-ECE from a “start-up” in a garage to a multi-national company with offices in 5 countries. Wasson-ECE customers range from small locally owned refineries to the largest oil and gas companies in the world. John is also a father, teacher, mentor, philanthropist, and pilot.
