As the chief technology officer for Water & Process Technologies, Thomas Stanley leads the global technology organization and works with the commercial, product management, engineering, and supply chain organizations to maximize growth through new product introductions and technology initiatives. Tom joined GE in 1986 as a staff engineer at the Corporate Research and Development Center in New York. He has since held engineering and technology leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including technology general manager for GE Silicones, and global technology manager for high performance polymers. Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Tom holds eight patents and is a member of the advisory committee for the University of California, Santa Barbara chemical engineering department.
