Tugba is a chemical engineer by training with experience in developing bioanalytical devices for interdisciplinary applications, ranging from disease diagnosis to pollutant monitoring. After completing her bachelor's and master's degrees in food engineering and nanotechnology, she decided to pursue her career in developing bioanalytical devices for pathogen detection. Her Ph.D. research focuses on DNA-based electrochemical biosensor development for pathogenic V. cholerae bacteria. In addition, she has successfully completed two industrial internship programs.
