Dr. Vance Jaeger is Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisville. In recent years he and his students have been collaborating with the Kentucky School for the Blind to design and prototype educational models for blind high school STEM students. He has developed a course, funded by NASA KY, for undergraduate and graduate students in which students learn practical skills in accessibility, diversity, inclusion, CAD, 3D printing, and prototyping techniques. Student designs have been made available for free online to allow K-12 instructors, students, and the blind community to benefit from our work. In addition to his work with the Kentucky School for the Blind, Dr. Jaeger is the co-PI for an NSF REU site for materials modeling, and his research group develops methods to model the molecular interactions of biological molecules at interfaces.
