Prof. Venkatesh Balan has been an Associate Professor at Michigan State University, since 2009. He got his Ph.D., in IIT, Chennai, India in 1999. After his Ph.D., he did his post-doctoral research in Japan in three different places. He move to Michigan State University in 2005 and started as a Post-doc in Biofuels related research. His research expertise include Ammonia based pretreatment, Enzyme hydrolysis and Microbial Fermentation. He has published over 60 manuscript related to biofuels research and file over 10 process patents.
