Dr. Qiang Xu is the Full Professor of Dan F. Smith Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. His main research areas include process synthesis, production scheduling, dynamic simulation and optimization with applications in chemical and petrochemical industrial emission reduction, energy saving, process safety, and regional air-quality analysis. He has published 168 peer-reviewed papers and given over 300 invited talks and conference presentations. He is the recipient of 2016 Excellence in Process Development Research Award from AIChE, University Professor Award in 2020, University Scholar Award in 2012, He is currently the Chair of the AIChE Process Development Division. Ying Liu currently is Ph.D. student in Chemical Engineering with 3+ years of industrial experience in process modeling & optimization, process control, process safety, Honeywell DCS, Aspen Plus, CFD and MATLAB. She will graduate in August 2023, she is seeking for full-time jobs.
