Yousr Dhaouadi

Doctoral candidate in Chemical Engineering at Syracuse University (SU), 2018 – Present. My thesis is focused on engineering and studying a novel optogenetic system for the non-invasive generation of bacterial persister cells tolerant to antimicrobials and linked to the recalcitrance of chronic infections to antibiotics. I also currently serve as President of the Graduate Student Organization at SU. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University in 2017 after transfer from the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates in 2015.
