Yuying Song
Yuying Song received her BS degree in Chemical Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology in 2013. After that she is working with Prof. Lars C. Grabow at University of Houston, Chemical Engineering Department to pursue a Ph.D. degree. Her research focuses on the study of catalytic properties of metal catalysts and the design of improved heterogeneous catalysts using a combination of computational and experimental methods. She works are primarily on emissions control catalysts for low temperature combustion diesel engines, but also includes catalysts needed for the synthesis of clean and sustainable fuels from biomass feedstock. She is a member of several professional society (AIChE, NACS, etc.) and has attended several national/international conferences. She was awarded the Colt Refining Student Award from International Precious Metals Institute in 2016 for her research on precious metal catalysts.
