January 13, 2021 - The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) announced approximately $123.6 million in funding, as well as $44.7 million of cost share, for 46 projects to stimulate technology innovation, improve the energy productivity of American manufacturing, and enable the manufacturing of cutting-edge products. The projects were selected as part of EERE's Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) FY20 multi-topic funding opportunity. A total of 21 RAPID members were selected for awards as either the lead organization or a project partner. RAPID itself is a project partner on two of the selected proposals - a project led by the University of Minnesota to improve the energy efficiency of drying steps in the papermaking process and a project led by Savannah River National Laboratory to reduce the energy intensity of ethylene production.
