RAPID Goes to Washington for a Congressional Briefing in September
For the third consecutive year, the RAPID Manufacturing Institute will be participating in Manufacturing USA® meetings that include a Congressional Briefing and EXPO. On September 19, all Manufacturing Institutes will convene for collaboration meetings at the Keck Center in Washington D.C. then participate in a “Manufacturing USA®: Securing U.S. Global Leadership in Advanced Manufacturing” briefing and EXPO on Capitol Hill.
The event draws attendees who are active in advanced manufacturing from industry and academia to media and legislative staff. Last year’s event drew several hundred attendees to the briefing and the exhibit hall, eager to hear about the progress of the institutes, see product demonstrations and speak with key institute executives. “This year, thanks to interest generated by the great work that the institutes are doing, we anticipate a strong show of support from the public and other stakeholders. We also welcome the opportunity to showcase RAPID’s work and impact to date,” said RAPID CEO, Bill Grieco.
Joining the RAPID team will be Professor Brian Paul, RAPID's Focus Leader for Module Manufacturing, who will be moderating a congressional briefing panel on “Leveraging Public-Private Partnerships to Develop an Advanced Manufacturing Workforce,” discussing how the institutes are helping to educate and train the next generation of our manufacturing workforce.
