Portable Chiller Line Has Expanded Cooling Capacities
The Iceman SC Series portable chiller line has been expanded to include the air-cooled ASL and water-cooled WSL portable chillers. The new units have an available fluid temperature range of 5°F to 30°F (–15°C to –1°C) and cooling capacities of 1.5–7.5 ton. They are designed with scroll compressors that have 50% fewer moving parts than reciprocating compressors. The chillers are equipped with a hot gas bypass control, which stops short cycling of the compressor under low load conditions and allows the compressor to run continuously at higher efficiency levels.

The OS758-LS handheld dual-laser thermometer has a high distance-to-spot ratio (60:1) that enables precise measurements from a safe distance. It has a wide measurement range of –35°C to 1,600°C (–31°F to 2,912°F) and offers adjustable emissivity for accurate results. The unit includes a high/low temperature alarm for monitoring minimum and maximum temperatures. It includes a serial peripheral interface (SPI) and universal serial bus (USB) connections. An 8-gigabyte micro secure data (SD) card slot provides external data storage, while an internal memory logs temperature and emissivity data. A Type K thermocouple is included for contact measurements to verify emissivity.

The ProtEX hazardous location enclosure coolers cool electrical enclosures in environments up to 175°F. The Models 8115, 8125, 8135, and 8170 have capacities of 900, 1,500, 2,500, and 5,000 Btu, respectively. The units are Atmosphères Explosibles (ATEX)-certified for Zones 1 and Zone 2, and they meet the EN ISO 80079-36:2016 standard of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The units have safety certification for compressed air temperatures of up to 120°F and are approved for a T3 temperature class. The coolers are quiet, operating at 62 dB. They require no wiring and can be installed in minutes. The four models have a small footprint to fit on all enclosures and in confined areas, and they can be mounted to the top or side of the enclosure.

The boundary element method (BEM) is available for modeling electrostatics and corrosion effects, which allows users to create models with infinite domains and voids, as well as to quickly set up simulations that combine wires, beams, surfaces, and solids in the same model. For users handling large computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models, a new algebraic multigrid (AMG) solver requires only a single mesh level; this is the default option for many fluid flow and transport phenomena interfaces. Turbulent flow modeling has been improved with a new feature that automatically accounts for flow near walls. The Model Builder more rapidly handles geometry and mesh operations for large arrays and complicated solid operations in 3D.

The injection-molded one-piece body has a single threaded sealed end carrier and double-stem O-ring seals that improve leak protection. The valve is available with socket or threaded end connections with 3/8-in. to 2-in. diameters. The valve body is available in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) with ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber seals and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seats. The Automated Blade System (ABS), a pneumatic tensioner for conveyor belt cleaners, delivers precise monitoring and tensioning throughout the life of the blade. Sensors confirm when the belt is loaded and running. The system automatically backs the blade away during stoppages or when the conveyor is running empty, minimizing unnecessary wear to both the belt and the cleaner. Two versions are available for locations with or without an existing power source. Sites with available power can use a 120/240-VAC electrical hookup to run the system’s 24-V compressor. For locations without convenient power access, a self-contained version uses the moving conveyor to generate its own electricity, which powers a small 24-VDC air compressor.
