Static Mixers Streamline Continuous Process Applications
These static mixers continuously mix liquid materials with a series of fixed elements. A three-step mixing design incorporates two-by-two-division; cross-current, counter-rotating vortices; and back mixing. Effective and efficient blending reduces the need to compensate for poor mixing by overdosing chemicals. The mixers are available in carbon steel, exotic alloy inline, and stainless steel to accommodate different process environments.

Level Transmitter Uses Noncontact Radar Technology
The Rosemount 1408H level transmitter is a noncontact radar device for the food and beverage industry. Noncontact radar is a useful level measurement technology for applications that require stringent hygienic facilities and equipment. The radar measurement is unaffected by process conditions such as density, viscosity, temperature, and pH. The transmitter has several features that improve operation efficiency and reduce product losses, including a hygienic compact design, fast sweep technology, improved radar beam focusing, and IO-Link communications. The compact design makes it suitable for small tanks and space-constrained skids. It has a top-down installation that reduces the risk of product loss through leakage. The transmitter uses 80-GHz frequency modulated continuous wave technology, which avoids internal tank obstructions to improve radar beam focusing and overall measurement accuracy. The transmitter uses fast sweep technology that collects up to 40 times more information than legacy transmitters. In addition, the transmitter has connectivity to the IO-Link communication protocol, making it easy to integrate with any automation system.

Pump Prevents Cross-Contamination
The Flexicon PF7+ peristaltic filling pump enables accurate and reliable filling of sensitive fluids in good manufacturing practices (GMP) production and cleanroom environments. Peristaltic technology prevents cross-contamination — only the inner bore of the pump’s single-use tubing contacts the fluid — to reduce waste of high-value products. The pump is suitable for every stage of biopharmaceutical therapy development, from research and development to clinical trials and small batch production.

Renewable Surfactant Enables Sustainable Formulations
The EdenSurf biobased surfactant can be used in formulations that are sulfate-free, environmentally friendly, and economical. The non-irritating surfactant additive offers similar performance of traditional surfactants, enabling it to serve as an alternative to sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and select zwitterionic surfactants commonly used in advanced product formulations. The material is sourced from sustainable, vegetative materials. It has a renewable carbon index greater than 90% and is certified readily biodegradable.

Biobased Formulation Outperforms Traditional Surfactants
The SugaBoost 050 is a biobased, biodegradable surfactant that meets the demands of high-performance green cleaning formulations. The surfactant is a blend of functionalized alkyl polyglucoside (APG) surfactants that provides cleaning performance equal to or better than those that use alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs). Avoiding the use of APEs is critical, as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has identified the class of chemicals as toxic to aquatic life. In addition, these biobased surfactants require less energy to manufacture than most surfactants and require only water as a solvent during manufacturing and cleaning.

Cleaner Removes Scale and Hard Water Deposits
MadBrew STONE ACID is a specially inhibited, low-foam acid blend to remove hard water deposits and scale. It is suitable as an A3 cleaning compound for food and beverage production facilities, as well as craft breweries of all sizes. The cleaner dissolves the crystalline molecular structure of calcium carbonate to enable the complete removal of deposits from kettles, heat exchangers, and other equipment. In addition, a chemical indicator reveals if enough cleaner is present. If the solution is red-purple, sufficient active acid is present for cleaning; if the solution turns yellow or is no longer red-purple, additional cleaner is necessary.
