Passive Isolation Valve Meets Fire Protection Standards
The VENTEX passive isolation valve can be controlled with or without external input and responds to extremely low pressures. The valves meet the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and are suitable for use with combustible dusts, gases, or hybrid mixtures. Advanced Graphene Additives Improve Material Properties
The Graf-X graphene nanoplatelets and precursors are high-performance additive materials that can improve the mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, and thermal properties of thermosets and thermoplastics, such as polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polystyrene (PS), polyethylene (PE), polyvinylchloride (PVC), and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The additives offer a more than two-fold increase in toughness of plastics without significantly increasing weight. A graphene loading as small as 0.5 wt% can increase tensile strength by 15% or more. A graphene loading of 15 wt% can double thermal conductivity and move the electrical conductivity of plastics into the anti-static and static-dissipative ranges. In composite formulations, loadings of less than 5 wt% of graphene can increase strength by 40%, improve stiffness by 20%, and elevate impact strength by 80%. These nanoplatelets can also improve the heat resistance of composites and provide noise reduction. Sizing and specification options are available that can be customized for specific applications.
