Pilot-Plant Tests for Liquid-Liquid Extraction

The best and most reliable method for the design of a liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) column is by pilot plant testing with actual feed and then relying on known scale up correlations for the specific type of extraction column.  In general, the development procedure consists of the following...

Techno-Economic Modeling for New Technology Development

Techno-economic modeling (TEM) is a valuable tool for connecting R&D, engineering, and business. By linking process parameters to financial metrics, businesses can better understand the factors affecting the profitability of their projects.

TEM is useful throughout the technology...

Anjana Rao

Dr. Anjana Rao obtained her Ph.D. in Biophysics from Harvard University and was a Professor at Harvard Medical School until 2011, when she moved to the La Jolla Institute and UCSD (University of California in San Diego). Her research is focused on the regulation of gene expression, using immune cells, haematopoietic stem cells and embryonic stem cells as model systems. Her lab purified and molecularly characterized the calcium/ calcineurin-regulated transcription factor NFAT; defined diverse transcriptional programs regulated by NFAT proteins in T cells; identified the pore subunit of the...Read more
