Launched in 2020 by the RAPID Manufacturing Institute®, ChemE Cube is an annual student competition where undergraduate university teams design, build, and demonstrate a one-cubic-foot plant to produce a chemistry defined in the annual problem statement.
Watch the above video to hear from recent ChemE Cube teams talking about the competition, which includes a head-to-head cube duel, a one-minute ad to promote their technology, and a 20-minute “shark tank” style pitch to a panel of mock investors. The theme for the 2024 competition, which will take place at AIChE’s Annual Student Conference in San Diego, is direct air capture and regeneration.
ChemE Cube is a part of AIChE's Practice+, a component of the Institute for Learning & Innovation (ILI).
