Join us for a pre-conference event to learn about Digital Manufacturing!
In the broad sense, Digital Manufacturing (DM) refers to manufacturing and processing practices that harness computation, both offline and real-time, to improve product quality, profitability, and safety. The introduction of DM in the chemical process industry, however, depends on our ability to innovate on multiple fronts, to include modeling, simulation and optimization capabilities, cyber-physical interfaces, advanced process control paradigms, data-driven analytics, as well as the introduction of ever more powerful and reliable IT infrastructure.
In this context, fruitful interactions between researchers, software and hardware vendors, and government stakeholders is seen as vital to support the trend of digitalization of the chemical process industry. To that end, in this first pre-Advanced Manufacturing & Processing Conference event, a group of subject matter experts from industry, academia, and the national labs will discuss important aspects of digital manufacturing, including the current opportunities and challenges associated with the development of DM enabling technologies and the implementation of DM solutions in practice.
