Structural characterization and modeling of complex particle agglomerates and assemblages is very important for the design and operation of particulate processes. Recent developments in structure characterization techniques as well as in theory and numerical simulations have allowed for increasingly complex particulate systems to be studied. This session invites papers that present recent advances in the qualitative and quantitative understanding of the relationships between the microstructure of particle agglomerates and their macroscopic properties (transport and mechanical properties, dissolution, etc.). Experimental characterizations of complex particulate structure related to modeling work are especially encouraged. All material classes are welcome.
