The chemical industry is faced with many challenges including geographic shifts in the location of manufacturing, rising volatile energy costs, a larger role of state-owned entities, security threats, and increasingly stringent health, safety, and environmentally concerns. Addressing these challenges will require innovative leadership to balance the competing needs of key stakeholders within the constraints of an increasingly competitive global marketplace.
