Design Considerations for Organic Electronic Materials and Devices

In this talk, an overview of the exciting field of organic electronics will be given. Tailor-made macromolecules offer the promise of providing made-to-order, low-cost materials solutions to some of the most pressing polymer and soft materials challenges of the day. The history and current state of the art will be provided, along with a description of the energy conversion, light-emitting, and sensing platforms in which organic electronic materials have made significant inroads in recent years.
