What if you could predict fire behavior and better protect your people and structures? Take this webinar to learn more.
In 60 minutes, you’ll gain an overview of fire event modeling, how source terms are developed and how to use model predictions to better protect your people and structures. You’ll start by reviewing the different types of fires - including pool, jet and flash - as well as extracts from well-known fire references and fire experiments. Then, you’ll review the basics of fire modeling for pool fires, jet fires, and BLEVEs. You’ll learn how fire events are modeled in terms of fire dimensions to release size, emitted flux levels and relevant event durations. You’ll also examine how to determine thermal impact on people and objects using a combination of flux levels, atmospheric absorption and geometric shape factors as well as the response of people and structures to incident flux. This webinar will also address when to use codes and standards fixed guidance as opposed to a facility-specific fire assessment study.
