Refresh your knowledge of the basic principles of agglomeration and why and how to incorporate them into your production.
This 60-minute webinar begins with a look at how agglomeration is used to alter the properties of particulate properties. From char-coal briquettes to pharmaceuticals to food and many other products, you’ll see how agglomeration improves flowability, product dissolution, product uniformity and other properties. Next, you’ll examine the reasons why we agglomerate particles and how granulated materials can be engineered to perform a specific task. The discussion covers in detail the key rate processes for wet granulation, as identified by Litster, Iveson and Hapgood. It also addresses the fundamental science behind each step and shows how failure in a step can result in failed granulation. The webinar goes on to ex-amine common pieces of granulation equipment and their potential application to granulation problems and concludes with a review of methods for characterizing granule properties such as size, strength and shape.
