Separation of particles by screens is one of the more common unit operations encountered in the process industry, yet the fundamentals of screening are not well understood. This webinar addresses the basics of screening, examining the fundamentals of screening: grade efficiency calculations, various aspects of probability of particle passage, and screening rate calculations. Also addressed are the various practical aspects of screening – selection and types of wire cloth, screener selection, wire cloth wear, screen blinding and prevention technique, and alternate screening technologies.
