This webinar discusses the background to ABET safety curriculum requirements as well as strategies that departments have used to address them.
The ABET Program Criteria for Chemical Engineering was changed to require that chemical engineering curricula include consideration of the hazards relevant to chemical, physical, or biological processes appropriate to the programs' educational objectives. Attendees gain an understanding of how various programs have prepared coming generations of chemical engineering graduates in safe engineering practice. These same approaches can also be implemented in an industrial setting to improve worker awareness of safe practices on the job.
