The number of potential options for the particle production step can be many and selection of a “good” process can be very difficult. This webinar examines what options are available to those who face the challenge of designing both the product particles and the associated production processes. Specifically, we examine what particle production processes are available as a function of given feed type, as well as address the processes which enable us to manufacture a particle to set of specifications. A number of commercial particle production processes are explored to illustrate the various processing techniques.
It can be a perplexing task to decide on which route to choose when designing a particulate material. On one hand, the particle designer needs to cope with the material form which has been produced by the reactor, crystallizer, etc. On the other hand, there are the functional requirements of the desired particles, usually specified in a number of particle properties such as density, shape, and particle size distribution, to name just a few.
