Dr. Ashley Pennington is a Chemical Engineer at the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security (CISA)- the nation's Chemical Sector Risk Management Agency. Ashley provides technical expertise relating to supply chain, physical security, cybersecurity, and climate resilience of the chemical sector. Previously, Ashley was an AAAS STPF Fellow at DOE's Federal Energy Management Program where she led the integration of Fleet Electrification, Utility Partnerships, and Climate Resilience; and an NRC Postdoctoral Engineer at the Naval Research Laboratory where she created and analyzed materials for chemical agent degradation, pesticide remediation, sustainable fuel production, and batteries. Ashley earned her BS in Chemical and Biological Engineering at University of Colorado at Boulder, and her MS and PhD in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Rutgers University. Dr. Pennington serves in AIChE's National Capital Section, the AIChE K-12 Committee, the AIChE Sustainable Engineering Forum, and the ACS’s Chemical Society of Washington's Project SEED.
