David Stern is a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Johns Hopkins University developing a novel nanostructure-based platform capable of efficient antibody capture for purification and therapeutic delivery. By combining knowledge from self-assembling supramolecular nanomaterials and coacervate systems, he has engineered a robust, modular affinity-based system for selective monoclonal antibody binding and separation. He is currently designing an affinity hydrogel for long-term release of therapeutic proteins.
