Deeksha Jain

Deeksha Jain is currently a PhD Candidate in Prof. Umit Ozkan’s research group at The Ohio State University (OSU). She received her BS degree in Chemical Engineering in 2014 from Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly UDCT) in Mumbai, India, after which she joined the PhD program in Chemical Engineering at OSU. Her doctoral research is based on heterogeneous catalysis including low temperature electrocatalysis with a focus on fuel cells, electrolyzers and electrochemical synthesis technologies, and catalytic combustion of lean methane extracted from coal mines. During her academic career she has co-authored 7 research papers published in peer reviewed journals, presented research at different conferences and has one patent pending. She has mentored 2 graduate and 5 undergraduate students in the research group and served as a teaching assistant for 3 Chemical Engineering courses. She is also currently serving as a Graduate Student Director in AIChE’s Catalysis & Reaction Engineering Division.
