Ibnelwaleed Hussein

Dr. Hussein is a Research Professor at the Gas Processing Center, Qatar University. He worked for Mobil Oil Sudan for 4 years. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Chemical and Materials Engineering Department at the University of Alberta, Canada in 1999. Throughout his academic life, Dr. Hussein received many Awards, Scholarships, and Prizes at the University of Khartoum, Sudan, and the University of Alberta, Canada, and Qatar University. Dr. Hussein has been awarded the “KFUPM Distinguished Research Award” in 2005, 2010, and 2015 and the “Excellence in Research Award” from the College of Engineering, Qatar University in 2019. He supervised more than 40 MS/Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows. After joining Qatar University in 2015, Dr. Hussein succeeded in securing about $3 million of research funding from the QNRF. Dr. Hussein has published about 200 refereed journal articles and patents including about 30 Granted US patents.
