Dr. Morris specializes in the analysis of atmospheric dispersions, fires, and explosions in an industrial setting with an emphasis on flammable and toxic materials. Her expertise stems from her chemical engineering background with extensive experience with hazardous chemicals, equipment modification and fabrication, programming, data analysis, modeling, and experimental research. Dr. Morris leverages her knowledge of atmospheric dispersion and the Process Hazard Analysis Software Tool (PHAST, licensed by DNV-GL) to consult on hazardous material releases. With her modeling experience, Dr. Morris has assisted in multiple Consequence Assessments, Building Siting Studies, and Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRAs). Dr. Morris has aided in the review of Process Safety Management (PSM) programs at industrial facilities regarding process safety information, operating procedures, management of change (MOC), and other elements of PSM programs. For GCPS 2021, Dr. Morris is currently serving as the PSMM symposia chair, chairing 2 sessions (Fires, Explosions, and Chemical Reactivity I & II), presenting 2 papers (Minimizing Risk of Unit Trains of Hazmat and What is the Safest Hazard Assessment Approach for Distances to Storage Tanks?, and is a member of the LPS committee.
