John Herber

John Herber is Principal Consultant at Process Hazard Management Services, LLC (PHMS) and a Staff Consultant for CCPS. His career spans over 40 years of Chemical Engineering experience, including 33 years at 3M Company. At 3M John was their representative to the CCPS TSC, and served on several committees. Since retiring in 2009 and forming PHMS, he has worked with clients to assess, implement and audit process safety systems, and conduct PHAs. John’s work with CCPS includes participation on 6 book-writing committees, serving as the Co-chair of the Process Safety Beacon Committee, and as an instructor for the AIChE “Foundations of Risk Based Process Safety” course. He has facilitated over 50 such courses over the last 6 years. John also serves as the AIChE Safety and Health Division Awards Chair. John resides in Stillwater, MN with his wife of 44 years. They have two children and four grandchildren.
