Michael Senra is an Associate Professor of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Lafayette College, an undergraduate only institution that combines liberal arts and engineering. He also serves as program chair of a dual degree program combining engineering and international studies. He earned his BS in chemical engineering at Cornell University and his MS and PhD at the University of Michigan under the tutelage of Scott Fogler. Professor Senra’s research focuses on better understanding how the composition of fuels influences their cold frow properties, which has applications ranging from subsea oil pipelines to biodiesel in cars. He has mentored numerous undergraduate student thesis and these students have gone on to study at the University of Virginia, Columbia University, the University of California at Santa Barbara and the University of Michigan.
