Nan Wang is currently a PhD student in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Kansas. He is working with Professor Laurence R. Weatherley on the oriented external electric field enhanced phase transfer catalysis. The scope of this research is to study experimentally the science of electric field chemistry and its role in organic synthesis and catalysis, as well as to explore the general applicability of oriented external electric field on mass transfer intensification. Nan Wang received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. Degrees in chemical engineering from Chongqing University, China in 2015 and 2012. He has 7 peer reviewed journal publications. His honors include First Prize of 2011 China National College Student Chemical Engineering Design Competition, University of Kansas’s 2018 Fall R+C Allison Scholarship and 2018 Spring Robert D Talty Scholarship. His research interests are in catalysis, process intensification and reaction engineering.
