Norma A. Valdez-Cruz

Dr. Adriana Valdez has been an Academic Leader at the National Autonomous University of Mexico since 2010. She is a Biologist Pharmaceutical Chemist from the Autonomous University of Baja California, awarded with honorable mention. She completed her doctorate at UNAM (2004) and obtained the Alfonso Caso Medal. She carried out postdoctoral stays at CIB in Colombia, at the University of Sussex, England, and at Probiomed. Since 2016, she has been Associate Editor of the Journal “Microbial Cell Factories” and participated until 2019 as a guest expert at the Mexican regulatory agency (COFEPRIS). She has published 75 scientific papers, 54 in JCR journals with more than 1850 citations, and 7 chapters in international books. She has a patent granted in the USA and Mexico. She has been involved in the development of genetic engineering and bioengineering of mammalian, yeasts, bacteria, and fungi cultures to produce biopharmaceuticals and metabolites.
