Rui Pina Campos

Rui Pina Campos is a Portuguese Engineer working at Hovione R&D Department for 4 years. His area of expertise covers process modelling and simulation, downstream process development, process scale-up, continuous manufacturing and particle engineering. Prior joining Hovione, he studied Biological Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon, Portugal) and concluded his MSc degree with an internship on biorefinery at Wageningen UR (Wageningen, the Netherlands). He joined Hovione as a Continuous Manufacturing Engineer, aiming to develop safe and robust continuous processes while exploring new tools and methodologies. Later, he was appointed as Process Modelling Engineer, giving support to several process chemistry development and scale-up projects. In the last year, the integration in the Particle Engineering group has provided new expertise related with spray-drying and jet-milling technologies. Rui has been promoting scientific methodologies in process development and scale-up with technical presentations at international conferences and mentoring MSc students.
