Hu group investigates photochemical materials and interfaces, and construct device by combining nano-coating with nanoscale semiconductors and guided by modelling efforts. Shu Hu received his Ph.D. (2011) from Stanford University in Materials Science and Engineering. Between 2012 and 2015, he did postdoctoral work with Professor Nathan S. Lewis at California Institute of Technology and Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis. He is specialized in photocatalysis theory and multi-physics modeling. His group also tunes coating porosity for stable membrane separation, and synthesizes nanoscale absorbers of Si, Ge, III-phosphide, and II-VI ternary semiconductors.
