Stefanos Baratsas

Dr. Baratsas works as a Supply Chain Optimization Engineer in the Modeling, Optimization and Data Science division at ExxonMobil, where he focuses on designing and developing complex optimization models across the company’s value chains and applying them to define strategic, tactical and operational needs and drive the appropriate business and technical solutions. Dr. Baratsas earned his Ph.D. from the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University, where he worked in the areas of mathematical optimization, machine learning and circular economy. Before joining ExxonMobil, he worked as an LNG Ship Superintendent Engineer for seven years at Thenamaris LNG Inc. Dr. Baratsas received his BSc and MEng in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, and his MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School in London. Additionally, he serves at the Editorial Board of Energy Systems.
