Maria-Elena studied Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the UNAM, Mexico and obtained her Ph.D at the Institut Pasteur in Paris. She was a postdoctoral fellow at The Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge and started her own lab in Strasbourg in 2009. Kyle R. Samson is an MD/PhD candidate at Drexel Univ. College of Medicine and he is currently in his fourth year in the Neuroscience Program. He is using a rodent model to explore the role of dopamine transmission in oxycodone craving during periods of abstinence.
