JING GUO

JING GUO, PhD, is a research scientist in Professor Richard Braatz’s lab at MIT. Before that, Guo worked for four years in Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) process development at Bristol Myers Squibb and Teva Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that, Guo spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher in the labs of Professor Kelvin Lee and Professor Abraham Lenhoff at the Univ. of Delaware. Guo earned a PhD in chemical engineering under the supervision of Professor Giorgio Carta at the Univ. of Virginia.Read more

Charles Collins-Chase is a partner at Finnegan, where he uses his chemical engineering background to help clients protect innovations in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, energy and renewables, and chemical products. Paul Townsend is currently associate regulatory counsel at POET, the world’s largest producer of biofuel and a global leader in sustainable bioproducts. Prior to joining POET, he was an associate at Finnegan Henderson where he focused on patent and trade secret litigation in the areas of specialty chemicals, energy, and biotechnology. Townsend has a BS in chemical engineering from Queen’s Univ., and he has used his chemical engineering skills both in his previous role at Finnegan and in his current role at POET.Read more

Mark Breese is a Principal Consultant for Yokogawa RAP. He has a degree in chemistry from the Univ. of Reading (UK) and is a Chartered Chemist and member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Whitney C. Blocher McTigue, PhD, earned her BS in chemical engineering at Clarkson Univ. in 2015 and her PhD in chemical engineering from the Univ. of Massachusetts Amherst in 2020. As a graduate student under Professor Sarah Perry, she focused on using sequence-controlled polypeptide-based complex coacervates to stabilize encapsulated proteins for the thermo-stabilization of vaccines. MARIA DEL CARME PONS ROYO, PhD, completed her bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, followed by a master’s degree in life science and technology from Delft Univ. of Technology. She defended her PhD thesis’ primary focus on protein precipitation and filtration at BOKU Univ. under the supervision of Professor Alois Jungbauer.
