RAPID's Process Technology Troubleshooting for Operators

This online course introduces new petrochemical employees to troubleshooting. The CPI (Chemical Process Industries) employes much complex technology, and sometimes processes, chemistry and systems do not operate as expected.  This course gives new employees many helpful strategies to aid them in diagnosing problems when they occur, and how to go about troubleshooting and fixing the problem. 

The course is divided into several modules such an introduction to troubleshooting, safety, health and environmental/regulatory concerns when troubleshooting, a discussion of different types of problems technicians will encounter, troubleshooting techniques, and case studies. 

Upon completion of the course, learners will better understand the various troubleshooting methods, and how to go about solving problems in the field. 

In this course, you will learn how to:

  • Determine when troubleshooting is required in a petrochemical facility
  • State potential health, safety or environmental hazards that can result from troubleshooting activities
  • State the steps an operator would take to troubleshoot a problem
  • Explain how to document the activity in the plant operating history
