- B.Sc. & M.Sc., Ghent University, Belgium. - Postdocs: Ghent University & Princeton University (US). - 2005: Faculty Université catholique de Louvain (UCL), Belgium. - 2008: Associate Professor & tenure. - 2013: Professor. - 2012: Head Materials & Process Engineering Division (IMAP). In his group at UCL, experimental and modeling research focuses on novel reactor concepts for process intensification. Reactor optimization and scale-up are studied through simulations accounting for both the details of the flow dynamics and the reaction kinetics. Applications: steam methane reforming using structured reactors; low-temperature, atmospheric-pressure plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition; biomass drying and fine particle coating in vortex chambers (high-G fluidization). Prof. Juray De Wilde is the co-holder of 2 patents and co-authored 37 scientific publications in international journals. With Profs. Gilbert Froment and Kenneth Bischoff (†), he co-authored the third edition of Chemical Reactor Analysis and Design (John Wiley & Sons, 2010). http://www.uclouvain.be/juray.dewilde
