Dr. Zalosh’s teaching, research, and mentorship in industrial fire safety were foundational to the field, significantly advancing knowledge and best practices. He authored the definitive textbook "Industrial Fire Protection Engineering" and co-authored the AIChE Center for Chemical Process Safety’s "Guidelines for Safe Handling of Powders and Bulk Solids." His peers recognized his contributions by honoring him as a Fellow of both the Society of Fire Protection Engineers and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
