AIChE’s Minority Affairs Committee (MAC) Celebrating 30 Years of Meritorious Service
MAC is embarking on 30 years of meritorious service and success in engaging and supporting underrepresented engineers. A tribute ceremony will be held this fall to celebrate and highlight MAC's historical milestones, continued growth, its founder Henry T. Brown and other members who have been championing its mission over the past 30 years. Short videos and a newsletter featuring eminent engineers, committee members and MAC’s accomplishments will be created to commemorate the ceremony. To learn more about MAC, please click here.
Getting ChEnnected: Building Pipeline for the Next Generation MAC
For the second year MAC. in partnership with the Societal Impact Operating Council (SIOC), will enhance the engagement of MAC members and leaders by awarding travel grants to twenty deserving students plus prizes to compete in a poster session at the 2020 AIChE Annual Meeting. Students will present their posters; attend the awards ceremony and the MAC reception where they can network with corporate leaders, prominent engineers, young professionals and committee members. AIChE LGBTQ+ & Allies Programming and Social - 2020 AIChE Annual Meeting
SIOC and the LGBTQ+ & Allies taskforce will host a young professionals panel and reception devoted to engaging LGBTQ+ engineers in the workplace and classroom, with a focus on the current state of the chemical engineering workplace for young professionals at the 2020 AIChE Annual Meeting. Cybersecurity Education Roadmap
AIChE will develop a cybersecurity roadmap, body of knowledge and education training for IT and OT professionals in the oil and gas industry that builds on the NICE framework.
International Student Chapter Leadership Development Travel Grant Program
AIChE’s international undergraduate student chapters is one of the cornerstone initiatives in the Institute’s plan to increase its global presence, recruit international members and evolve the profession. The International Student Chapter Leadership Development Travel Grant is awarded on the basis of leadership involvement in student chapter activities, academic achievement, and financial need. The AIChE Foundation is delighted to support this global student program for six consecutive years. Since its establishment in 2014, the grant program has supported 43 students from 28 student chapters in 19 different countries. For more information, click here.
